VIDEO: 'We Live in Uncertainty' - The President Meets Residents of Tegh, Khndzoresk, Khoznavar, and Vaghatur
The President of the Republic, Armen Sarkissian, today visited the border settlement of Khndzoresk in the Syunik region as part of a working visit with Armenia's Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan. This information has been reported by the President's office.
President Sarkissian and the Human Rights Defender met and talked with local residents, gaining further insight into their issues, which primarily relate to security, socio-economic conditions, and human rights.
"We are living in uncertainty. We need better roads; the roads are very bad. In these conditions, we cannot engage in livestock farming," the residents expressed.
They particularly noted that some areas, mainly pastures, have come under Azerbaijani control after the war, and currently, besides security concerns, they face challenges in securing their livelihoods. They also highlighted problems regarding road repairs, water supply, and gas supply.
During his visit to Khndzoresk, President Sarkissian also met with the head of the enlarged community of Tegh and the leaders of the nearby settlements of Khoznavar and Vaghatur, who presented their challenges.
The President suggested that they provide more detailed information and specifics about the community's primary issues to the President's office, expressing readiness to assist within the mandate and capabilities of the presidential institution in resolving these issues.
