Video: Citizen Fired Different Weapons on Artsakh Street, Law Enforcement Neutralized Him

On April 17, at 11:15 AM, the Erebuni division of the police received a report of gunfire near building 8/16 on Artsakh Street. An operational group from the division, along with officers from the main and Yerevan city departments of the criminal police and territorial investigative division, as well as experts, headed to the scene.

A man armed with an AK-47 and a hunting rifle was at the scene, holding the firearms in his hands. The man informed law enforcement that he would commit suicide. To prevent the potential consequences, it was necessary to act quickly and professionally, which the criminal investigators from the Erebuni division successfully accomplished. They managed to neutralize the man and took him into custody, where it was revealed he was a 54-year-old resident of Yerevan.

Besides the factory-numbered AK-47 and the IJ hunting rifle, various ammunition of different calibers, fired cartridges, F-1 type grenades, grenades' detonators, and other military ordnance were also found at the scene. The illegal weapons and ammunition were seized and sent for examination.

The detained man was presented to the territorial investigative division and arrested. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. Circumstances and motives are being clarified in the pre-trial investigation.
