Video: Boris Avagyan Summoned by NSS Following Dismissal

The former Deputy Director of the Emergency Situations State Service of Artsakh, Boris Avagyan, has been summoned by the National Security Service (NSS). Avagyan confirmed this during a conversation with reporters on April 19.

"Yes, I have been invited to the NSS, I will visit, I don’t know, I have not been there yet. I do not assume anything; I will find out," he noted.

Avagyan stated that a representative from the Emergency Situations State Service of Artsakh had recently taken his service weapon pursuant to a ministerial order.

It is worth mentioning that on the same day, the Emergency Situations State Service of Artsakh released an official statement regarding Avagyan's dismissal, which stated: "During the press conference held by Boris Avagyan in Yerevan, he expressed opinions that led to his dismissal from the position of Deputy Director of the Emergency Situations State Service by the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Karen Sargsyan. Avagyan did not inform the higher authorities of his organization of the press conference and spoke on topics outside of his scope of authority. Most of Avagyan’s expressed opinions and views not only do not align with the stance of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Emergency Situations State Service but also do not correspond to reality. Considering his unfit conduct and the misuse of his official position, Boris Avagyan has been dismissed by the order of Karen Sargsyan."

Boris Avagyan was appointed as Deputy Director of the Emergency Situations State Service of Artsakh on March 12, having received the offer from the President of Artsakh.
