It Is Impossible to Demand Honor from a Person Who Has Lost His Own Honor: Vanezyan Withdraws Lawsuit Against Pashinyan and His Spokesperson

The former director of the National Security Service and leader of the Homeland Party, Arthur Vanezyan, has withdrawn his lawsuit against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his press secretary Mane Gevorgyan. According to the court, the plaintiff’s representatives submitted a written request, stating that in light of the recent developments in Armenia, when the country suffered a disgraceful defeat due to the policies personally pursued by Nikol Pashinyan, who subsequently signed a capitulation document betraying the Republic of Armenia and the entire Armenian people, it is morally impossible to demand honor from a person who has lost his own honor.

Based on the above and guided by Articles 32, 48, and 149 of the Civil Procedure Code of Armenia, the plaintiff Arthur Vanezyan fully withdraws his claims against Nikol Vovayi Pashinyan. Thus, the court has decided to terminate the proceedings of the case.

It should be noted that the Prime Minister's spokesperson, Mane Gevorgyan, had made a statement that also referred to former NSS director Arthur Vanezyan. The statement specifically mentioned that, allegedly, “the stakes of M. Minasian in the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine were obtained by misuse of official powers with the help of fictitious shareholders, specifically by former NSS director Arthur Vanezyan. The company belonging to his father has also become a major carrier of ZCM’s cargo.” Following this, Vanezyan’s legal team announced that the information contained in the Prime Minister’s spokesperson's statement had no connection to reality. “Using all available legal tools, we will take measures to protect Arthur Vanezyan’s rights, and a corresponding civil lawsuit will be prepared and presented to the court,” Vanezyan’s lawyers stated.
