Details on the Accident on the Vanadzor-Stepanavan Road: Among the 9 Injured are Minors
On April 18, at 18:23, the National Crisis Management Center received a report that an accident occurred on the Vanadzor-Stepanavan highway in the Lori region involving three cars. An operational group from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and two fire-rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.
It was revealed that at the 7th kilometer of the Vanadzor-Stepanavan highway, a collision occurred between a VAZ-2121 (driven by A. G. born in 1987), a Volkswagen Golf (driven by H. G. born in 1978), and a Mitsubishi Pajero (driven by A. A. born in 1953). As a result of the collision, the Mitsubishi Pajero overturned, while the driver of the Volkswagen Golf, H. G., was trapped in the vehicle.
Before the rescuers arrived, the injured were taken to the hospital in Vanadzor by local authorities. Doctors assessed the health conditions of the injured: A. A. (born in 2006), I. A. (born in 2010), K. G. (born in 1983), A. G. (born in 2005), T. G. (born in 1983), H. G. (born in 1978), K. G. (born in 1964), and A. G. (born in 1962) as satisfactory, while A. G. (born in 1964) was reported to be in extremely serious condition.
Rescuers cut off the power to the vehicles and used specialized equipment to free the driver of the Volkswagen Golf from the wreckage, bringing him to an ambulance while performing cleanup work on the roadway. According to Shamshyan.com, the Mitsubishi flipped over as a result of the accident. Reports indicate that one of the drivers, A. Ghazaryan, serves in a unit of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.
