I Warned on November 12, 2020, That Soon the Entire Blame for This War Would Be Placed on the Army by Nikol: Artak Zakaryan
Former Deputy Minister of Defense Artak Zakaryan made a Facebook post stating: "On November 12, 2020, I warned Chief of the General Staff, Colonel-General Onik Gasparyan, in his office that sooner or later, Nikol would place the entire blame for this war on the army. At that time, he did not accept it; rather, he said they were ready to be both rewarded and held accountable. Yesterday, Nikol, through the former Secretary of the Security Council of Artsakh, Samvel Babayan, publicly accused the military command and the General Staff of everything. Moreover, he blamed them for all things. On the same day, the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, categorically denied the facts, stating that during the war, Nikol was not the supreme commander. According to Nikol, he is not guilty; Nikol has never been guilty of anything; Nikol is a saint. Everyone is guilty except Nikol. Here are the fruits of populism.
Gentlemen generals and officers, prepare to be 'judged.' As a result, it will turn out that you are the only culprits of the instigated war and disgraceful defeat, along with all previous retired generals and ministers. Many brave men who have dedicated their lives to the defense of the homeland have been vilified and criticized for three years, now being labeled as traitors and saboteurs who must be held accountable. The irony is that all this is merely at the whim of one person.
P.S. A question may arise, what was I doing in the Chief of Staff's office? I will answer: at the invitation of Mr. Gasparyan (I believe with Nikol's knowledge), we were discussing the situation and possible solutions. My suggestion was that Nikol, hiding in bunkers, personally invites representatives of all political forces to a meeting, answers everyone's questions, and resigns immediately."
