«Sevan» Prison Officers Discover Drugs Thrown Between Concealed Walls

On April 14, 2021, around 5:00 PM, officers of the 'Sevan' penal institution of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, acting on operational intelligence, discovered two packages concealed within the intermediate space of two walls during a search of the premises.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Justice, one of the packages contained hard substances resembling methamphetamine weighing 0.7 grams, and marijuana-like substances weighing 0.5 and 0.7 grams, a lighter, as well as a piece of iron pipe intended to add weight to the package.

The other package contained a mobile phone charger, 2 USB cables, and a polyethylene container that held a dark brown liquid with a characteristic odor similar to cognac. A 50 cm long wire was also attached to the package for more accurate throwing.

Materials are being prepared on the fact. A forensic chemical examination has been appointed.
