A Criminal Case Has Been Opened Regarding the Accident Involving Simon Martirosyan, a Signature Not to Leave is Chosen as a Preventive Measure

On April 12, 2021, around 22:30, a resident of the Armavir region hit a 1993-born citizen of Yerevan with his personal "Mercedes" car on the Arshakunyats Avenue, in the section of road opposite the "Yerevan Mall" shopping center, causing death due to negligence.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case was opened in the Road Traffic Crimes Investigation Division of the Yerevan Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee under the characteristics of part 2 of article 242 of the RA Criminal Code (violating the requirements aimed at ensuring road traffic safety or the rules of road traffic or the operation of vehicles). A forensic examination of the corpse has been assigned, and the 27-year-old has been recognized as the victim. A signature not to leave has been chosen as a preventive measure against the resident of Armavir. The pre-investigation is ongoing.

It should be recalled that Simon Martirosyan, a world champion in weightlifting and a silver medalist at the Olympic Games, ran over a pedestrian crossing the street at an unauthorized section with his "Mercedes" car on Arshakunyats Avenue, who later died on the way to the hospital.
