Criminal Case Initiated Following Suicide of 39-Year-Old Woman

Today at 17:05, the police department of Zeytun received a report from a citizen stating that a woman had committed suicide by shooting herself. An investigative-operational group immediately responded to the scene, where they found the body of the resident born in 1981 on a sofa in the balcony of an apartment in one of the buildings on D. Anahiti Street in Yerevan, with a gunshot wound to the left side of her chest.

The Investigative Committee reports that next to the body, a "Makarov" type pistol awarded to her father, along with seven bullets, one fired cartridge, and one bullet were discovered. The weapon, the bullets, the fired cartridge, and the bullet were seized from the scene, and gunshot residue was collected from the deceased's hands. Complex forensic examinations have been ordered for the body.

A criminal case has been opened in the investigative department of the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district of the Yerevan Investigative Division under part 1 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The investigation is ongoing.

According to SHAMSHYAN.com, the deceased woman's father is a lieutenant general in the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB).
