Car Burns in Gegharkunik Region: Owner Claims It Was Arson

A mysterious incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region today. Around 1:00 AM, the Emergency Situations Ministry's rescue service received a call reporting that a car was on fire in front of building 25 on Artaik Street in Vardenis, according to shamshyan.com.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene extinguished the blaze in a Mercedes 600 vehicle with license plate 64 VV 600. It was discovered that the engine compartment and the trunk area of the car had been completely burned.

In an interview with the site, the car's owner, Lilith Aydyan, stated: “This was intentional arson, and now the Vardenis police are trying to make it look like the car caught fire due to a malfunction. That is a lie; gasoline was poured on the car and it was set on fire.”
