No General Has Been Dismissed from Service: Samvel Asatryan

The newspaper "Joghourd" reported that the Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Artak Davtyan, has begun a "vendetta" in the army and is punishing military officials, including corps commanders, who opposed Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and demanded his resignation.

The paper also stated that, together with Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan, the Chief of General Staff Artak Davtyan is discussing the issue of consolidating military corps and creating a major command point.

In an interview with 168.am, the head of the information department of the General Staff's organizational division, Colonel Samvel Asatryan, assured that the rumors of a vendetta are unfounded.

"No general or senior military officer has been dismissed from their position or job," he emphasized. Regarding the consolidation of military corps, Asatryan noted that structural changes in the armed forces are not subject to public disclosure.
