Humans Can Transmit Coronavirus to Animals: WHO
Despite the fact that the coronavirus is primarily transmitted from human to human, there is evidence of human-to-animal transmission. This was discussed by Melita Vujnović, a representative of the WHO in Russia.
"Several animals (including mink, dogs, domestic cats, lions, tigers, and otters) that have been in contact with infected individuals have tested positive for the coronavirus. The process of studying the virus's impact on other animal species is ongoing," Vujnović said.
According to her, it is important to understand which species of animals are more vulnerable in order to avoid future outbreaks of the disease.
