According to Me, New Positions Will Be Handed Over to Azerbaijan in Artsakh Based on GPS Principles: Edgar Elbakyan

When Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan speaks during regional meetings about the unblocking of roads, claiming that it is beneficial for both Azerbaijan and Armenia, he is lying for a simple reason: he does not present any justification for why it is advantageous for Armenia. What is said during public meetings, that we will export copper, etc., is simply laughable, political scientist Edgar Elbakyan said in a conversation with Tert.am.

“What will he do with his capitulated armed forces if a wagon of copper gets blocked in Azerbaijani territory? He still cannot return the prisoners, and continues to hand over territories. According to my information, with the arrival of spring, new positions will be handed over to Azerbaijan in several mountainous areas of Artsakh based on GPS principles. What are we talking about regarding copper and wagons?” he noted.

The political scientist stated that the so-called regional unblocking is a consequence of our capitulation. Any person with logic understands that this does not serve our interests at all. “If it was in our interests, why weren't we dealing with this before the war? It has been imposed on us; in reality, the word itself is deceptive. No unblocking will occur; what will happen is the final encirclement of the Republic of Armenia by the Turkish world. If today we are able to export our goods to the world through the Islamic Republic of Iran and Georgia despite logistical difficulties, we will not be able to later. In other words, when they wish, this will be a lever, a stick against us, and those goods will simply be blocked,” he explained.

“The time that has passed since November 9 is enough to realize that they are incapable of pursuing Armenia's national interests. They are a capitulationist regime that has not even had the political courage to resign. Why should anyone abroad take their words into account?”

Addressing the existing issues in Syunik, Elbakyan emphasized that the government claims that the handed over territories do not include Syunik; however, that is not the case. “Who determined the border of Syunik? To the east of Syunik was the Kashatagh border, which is occupied by Azerbaijani armed forces. It was only necessary not to reach a verbal agreement with the leader of the hostile country, yet the capitulator personally accepted that based on a verbal agreement, the relevant plots of land in Kashatagh's part were handed over to the enemy in the regions of Vorotan and Zangeazan. What measures are we talking about when the leader of the country is handing over lands to the enemy?”

Speaking about the early elections, the political scientist stated that the situation in the country will not stabilize after the elections. “These elections will not resolve the existential problems facing Armenia; they will simply reproduce the legitimization of this crisis and, therefore, the legitimization of the handover of Artsakh.”
