NASA's Mars Rover Sends First Image from Ingenuity Helicopter
The Ingenuity helicopter, which landed on the Red Planet with NASA's Perseverance rover, has sent back the first image to Earth taken on Mars. According to NASA's website, the picture was captured on April 4. The image features the rotor tips of the helicopter and its wheels touching the Martian surface.
The agency expects the drone to send more images to Earth, taken during its test flights. As previously reported, the first controlled flight of the helicopter is scheduled to take place on Mars on April 12.
The Perseverance rover aims to gather information regarding the planet's climate conditions as part of its new mission.
