Mikael Minasian to Participate in Elections with Own Team

Former Armenian Ambassador to the Vatican Mikael Minasian has decided to participate in the snap elections scheduled for June 20 with his own team. His associates have already registered a political party called “My Armenia.” The registration date listed on the state registry website is March 31, 2021.

The party president, Narek Samsonyan, confirmed this information, noting that the party's assembly took place on November 30. The core team will include Minasian’s friends and faces from the ArmNews television channel such as Ara Saghatelyan, Arman Saghatelyan, Ruben Mkhitaryan, Abraham Gasparyan, Karen Bekaryan, Narek Samsonyan, Angela Elibegova, Ruben Melikyan, and others.

Although Samsonyan is the president of the party, preliminary information suggests that Ara Saghatelyan will lead the electoral list. Samsonyan did not rule out that he would oppose this, but he also mentioned that a final decision regarding participation in the elections has not yet been made.
