Armenian Boxers Return from Kherson with Two Gold Medals

The 15th International Memorial Tournament named after Mykola Manger is concluded in Kherson, Ukraine. Out of our five boxers who reached the finals, only two emerged victorious.

Gurgen Madoyan, competing in the 69 kg category, won against Ukrainian boxer Yaroslav Samofalov, while Arman Darchinyan, in the 75 kg category, triumphed over the Armenian boxer representing Ukraine, Liparit Ustyan.

Our other athletes—Koryun Soghomonyan in the 52 kg category, Arthur Ghazaryan at 57 kg, and Gurgen Hovhannisyan in the super heavyweight—faced defeat and settled for silver medals.

Additionally, five more Armenian boxers who lost in the semifinals were awarded bronze medals.
