April 24 is a Holiday: It’s Interesting to See How Those Who Gave Us This Unprecedented 'Pride' Will Celebrate Proud Citizen's Day, Says Naira Zohrabyan
Member of Parliament Naira Zohrabyan from the Prosperous Armenia party wrote on her Facebook page:
“So, according to the law on ‘Holidays and Commemoration Days of the Republic of Armenia’, April 24 is a holiday. The revolutionary proud authorities have legally enshrined its existence in our lives as a holiday. Two years ago, an amendment was made to the law on ‘Holidays and Commemoration Days of the Republic of Armenia’ and it was decided that in the last week of April, proud citizens will celebrate Citizen’s Day. This last Saturday of April is April 24—the Day of Remembrance of the Armenian Genocide. For the revolutionary figures of April 2018, this April 24 is, in fact, the holiday of the citizen. You probably remember that for Citizen’s Day, numerous public squares across the republic were filled with grills for barbecuing. Now it’s just interesting to see how they will celebrate this unprecedented 'pride' on April 24, the day of the proud citizen.”
