Hot Debates on the 'Top' Numbers of Electoral Lists: 'Zhoghovurd'
'Zhoghovurd' newspaper reports: 'As it is already clear that the domestic authorities will hold parliamentary elections on June 20 with a proportional electoral system, discussions on the 'top' numbers of electoral lists are heating up. The fact is that those individuals who previously had no issue appearing in the passing seats of the lists, as they participated in the elections through a rated electoral system, now need to be in one unified list and, most importantly, above the passing threshold.
This means that political teams are now in an unpleasant situation. We have learned that the 'Prosperous Armenia' party has already outlined its electoral list, discussions are ongoing in the 'Civil Contract' party, while only the quartet of the 'Enlightened Armenia' party is known for now. According to our sources, the list is headed by the leader of the NA 'Enlightened Armenia' faction Edmon Marukyan, the second will be Taron Simonyan, and Arkadi Khachatryan will take the third place, with the first woman on the list being LHK member Ani Samsonyan.
According to our information, the list is still preliminary and may undergo changes in the near future. 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper tried to clarify with Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the NA 'Enlightened Armenia' faction, how accurate our information is. 'We do not have a list yet; we will not start writing a list until the Prime Minister resigns,' Marukyan stated.'
