Publication of the RA Human Rights Defender's 2020 Report and Torture Prevention Mechanism Report
The Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "Dear compatriots, The report of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia for the year 2020 and the report on the mechanism for the prevention of torture have been published.
These documents present the results of the Human Rights Defender’s activities during 2020, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, under states of emergency and martial law, with professional analysis and impartial, non-political principles, highlighting human rights issues and positive developments.
The documents are unprecedented in volume, totaling 1970 pages, and are the outcome of the dedicated work of a team of committed and patriotic professionals in the Human Rights Defender's office.
Moreover, the annual report and the mechanism report do not include the dozens of emergency reports and statements that were compiled during 2020.
