Azerbaijanis Did Not Show Up for Matches Against Armenian Boxers
The international boxing tournament named after Mangera has kicked off in Ukraine, with five Armenian boxers starting off with victories.
The first to enter the ring was Arman Darshinyan, competing in the 75 kg weight class, who achieved a convincing victory over Ukraine's Alexey Shiroyev. Also finishing their matches in triumph were 81 kg weight class boxers Hambardzum Hakobyan and Rafael Hovhannisyan. Hakobyan and Hovhannisyan defeated Sergey Snityuk and Ilya Melnychuk, respectively, both representing Ukraine.
Victories were also recorded for 57 kg weight class boxer Zhorzhik Marutyunyan and 63 kg weight class boxer Hrayr Shahverdyan. They were supposed to compete against Azerbaijani athletes, but the latter did not show up, and the win was awarded to the Armenian boxers.
