At Least 1 km Away Must Be the Distance, So Children Can Open the Curtain Without Seeing the Turk: Shurnukh Village Head

In response to the incident where Azerbaijani forces drove off 13 cows belonging to a resident of Shurnukh to Azerbaijani territory, the Goris division of the Armenian police is preparing materials on the case. This was reported by the police's press service to Factinfo. Previously, it was reported that Azerbaijanis had driven the 13 cows of a Shurnukh villager into Azerbaijani territory and have not returned them to this day.

In an interview with Factinfo, the head of Shurnukh village, Hakob Arshakyan, stated that local police have collected the information and are working on the case. “Our border guards are in contact with the Azerbaijanis through Russian mediation. They establish contact, but there is no response from their side. They say that if they find them, they will return them. Once, they allowed the Russian peacekeepers, our border guards, and the owner of the cows to enter that area, but now they are not allowing it,” said the village head.

Hakob Arshakyan noted that everyone in the village is more vigilant both regarding livestock issues and whether to let children outside. According to the village head, the feed supply has run out, preventing Shurnukh residents from letting their livestock out. “They are currently kept in barns; the feed has also run out. They are bringing animal feed and hay from different regions of Syunik, as well as from Ararat and Artashat, to meet their needs. They ask to be at least 1 km away so the children can open the curtain without seeing the Turk. These people do not want anything more,” emphasized Hakob Arshakyan.
