Former NSS Director and Colleagues to Initiate a New Organization

Former National Security Service (NSS) Director Mikayel Hambardzumyan and his colleagues have decided to take the initiative to form a public organization that will include former directors of the NSS and high-ranking officers. They will hold a press conference soon to present the goals of the organization and its participants.

In a conversation with us, Hambardzumyan refrained from revealing too much, only stating, "The purpose of the initiative is to utilize the potential of our colleagues for the rational benefit of our homeland." When asked if the initiative would have a political direction or if they might later enter politics, Hambardzumyan replied, "No. Right now, everyone is involved in politics."

However, it is unlikely that former NSS directors who have ties with the current authorities, such as Eduard Martirosyan, who is now the director of the nuclear power plant, Argishti Kyaramyan, who is awaiting a new appointment, or Armen Abazyan, will be part of the initiative, unless they have already joined the list of former NSS directors. Nevertheless, nothing can be entirely ruled out.
