Everything Will Be Clear in the Coming Days: 'Zhoghavorud'

According to information from the 'Zhoghavorud' newspaper, the fate of the application submitted by Armenian President Armen Sarkissian to the Constitutional Court will become clear in the coming days. As known, on March 10, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian addressed the Constitutional Court regarding the law on 'Military Service and the Status of a Serviceman.'

In a statement released by Armen Sarkissian's office, it was noted that 'the submission of the application is also conditioned by existing problems in the law's application practice, which became more evident following the Prime Minister's initiative to dismiss the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Onik Gasparyan, and the subsequent constitutional legal processes.'

'The decisions of the Constitutional Court and possible measures to be taken with the presented application may have significant impacts on previously adopted decisions and current and future processes related to the created situation in the context of the interpretation and application of the aforementioned law.'

Furthermore, we have learned that the application is at the preliminary examination stage (the deadline is 30 days from the date of registration). After that, the question of whether to accept the application for consideration will be raised at a procedural session. However, according to our information, the decision will be published before the end of the established deadline, and the application will be accepted for consideration,' writes the newspaper.
