Azerbaijan is Not Returning Prisoners, Clearly Using This for Various Political Purposes: Tatoyan

The issues regarding the non-return of prisoners and the search for missing persons, including bodies, fall within the context of Azerbaijan's policy of hatred and enmity. This was stated by Armenia's Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan during a meeting with journalists.

Tatoyan noted that Azerbaijan has lied so much about the issue of prisoners that it has become entangled in its own lies. The Defender emphasized the importance of international pressure.

"Azerbaijan is not returning prisoners, clearly using this for various political purposes. For example, there have been reports in the media that they are using the issue of prisoners in connection with various territorial matters. This is an act that amounts to a war crime. We must present this correctly to international organizations," Tatoyan said.

He added that Azerbaijan is trying to keep legal institutions at bay and is only working under political directives.
