Thief in Kapan Attempted to Withdraw Cash from Stolen Card; No Funds Available

On March 2, a resident of the Djork village reported to the Kapan police that he had lost his mobile phone on December 12 of the previous year on Hunan Avetisyan Street. During the search operations, community police received information that an 18-year-old girl's mobile phone had been stolen from her pocket by a 34-year-old man from the village of Verin Khotana.

On March 26, the suspect was taken to the Kapan police station. During the preparation of the materials, it was also revealed that the victim's mother's payment card, with a PIN code, was in the protective case of the phone. The suspect attempted to withdraw cash from an ATM in Kapan on December 12, but the crime was not completed due to insufficient funds in the account.

Days later, the suspect tried to withdraw the money from the same card at an ATM in Kajaran, but due to entering the wrong PIN, the ATM swallowed the card. Measures are being taken to locate the mobile phone. An investigation is underway regarding the incident.
