Tango for Two: Peskov Discusses Putin-Biden Relations

Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov addressed relations with the United States and a possible meeting between Biden and Putin in an interview with the newspaper Arguments and Facts.

“The insulting statement directed at the head of state is unprecedented. However, in response to Biden’s statement, the president wished him good health, which seemed quite sincere to me. Health never hinders anyone. But the Americans ignored the initiative to talk that stemmed from the president’s response. From our point of view, the main thing now is to prevent further deterioration of relations. They have already suffered significant harm and must be somehow revived. Therefore, it is essential to start talking,” he stated.

“Given the unprecedented escalation of bilateral relations, both the Russian and American people will be interested in understanding what the presidents are discussing. The president has also stated that he is open to such communications. But here, one cannot make decisions for the second country. Tango is danced by two,” Peskov added.
