It’s Known Who Will Lead the ‘My Step’ Electoral Headquarters: Arsen Torosyan Unveils Certain Details

The electoral headquarters will be coordinated by four prominent representatives of ‘My Step’, among them is Arsen Torosyan.

According to Arsen Torosyan, the head of the Prime Minister's Office, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Suren Papikyan, will lead the electoral headquarters.

“It has been decided that the electoral headquarters will be coordinated by four people: me, Romanos Petrosyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, and Suren Papikyan. Papikyan will be the main coordinator, in a way the head of the headquarters,” Torosyan said.

According to him, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will resign between April 20 and May 5. However, after that, he will continue to serve as the acting Prime Minister, and the current government will continue its work until the formation of a new government.

“Now, the elections are the best way to serve the interests of the country; they are a means to reduce political tensions,” he emphasized.

When asked whether Pashinyan’s regional visits are part of the election campaign, Torosyan responded that the Prime Minister, by virtue of his office, must be where there are problems and talk to citizens.

“We haven’t had such meetings in a year due to the coronavirus and the war,” he explained.

Torosyan stated that using administrative resources is condemnable, and the Prime Minister does not engage in such practices.

It should be reminded that on March 18, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that early parliamentary elections would take place in the Republic of Armenia on June 20.
