If I Were Standing Next to Erdogan, I Would Spit in His Face: Turkish Basketball Player Enes Kanter
The American-based Turkish basketball player Enes Kanter, known for his critical statements against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has once again come under the spotlight of Turkish media, reports Ermenihaber.
“What would I say to Erdogan if I met him? I would call him a dictator. He is a self-centered man who uses his power to violate human rights. He wants to be the most important person in Turkey. Any journalist who speaks against him ends up in jail the very next day. If I were standing next to Erdogan, I probably wouldn’t exchange a single word with him, I would just spit in his face,” said the basketball player.
Kanter had previously stated that he plans to accept U.S. citizenship.
