Eghegnadzor Police Discover Over 1 kg of Marijuana at Dealer's Home

The Eghegnadzor police have discovered over 1 kilogram of marijuana at the home of a drug dealer in the village of Eghigis. This information was provided by the Public Relations and Media Department of the Armenian Police.

According to the source, on the morning of March 25, officers from the Eghegnadzor police department received operational information regarding a 49-year-old man from the village of Eghigis, who, according to prior arrangements, was to sell drugs to a 23-year-old young man.

“The Eghegnadzor police rushed to one of the fast food outlets on Yerevan Avenue, where they were meant to meet. The criminal investigators lay in wait, and when the man handed over a cigarette box containing drugs to the young man, both were apprehended. The young man had a cigarette box in hand, and it was discovered that two packages had fallen out, while the rest remained in the box. During the examination of the scene, several packages resembling marijuana, weighing a total of over 13 grams, were found.”

The police also reported that the dealer was apprehended prior to the search of the scene. During his search, packages resembling marijuana, a similar-looking roll, and a pipe intended for drug use were found as well.

A criminal case has been initiated, within the framework of which police officers searched the man’s home in Eghigis, where marijuana-like substances, cannabis plants, and seeds weighing over 1 kilogram and 300 grams were found and seized in various parts of the house. Subsequent measures have led to factual data indicating that the man had previously sold drugs to various individuals.

Expert examinations have been appointed. The circumstances of the cases are being clarified.
