Citizens Protest Over Dismissal of Kindergarten Director, Who Is the Wife of a Missing Person

In Yerevan's number 133 kindergarten, no illegal actions have taken place. This was stated today, March 30, during a protest near kindergarten number 133 by the director of the kindergarten, Zhanna Manukyan. It should be noted that citizens are protesting the dismissal of the kindergarten director, who is the wife of a missing person.

“Following the Minister of Health's order, which literally states that children whose parents cannot practically perform remote work may be admitted to kindergarten out of turn. After that instruction, I called the education department of the administrative district and asked how this out-of-turn admission would be conducted in the mayor's registration system. I was told that an order would be issued until we understand how the out-of-turn process would work. The next day, the out-of-turn procedure changed, meaning that children whose parents were killed in Artsakh or returned with severe injuries were considered out-of-turn,” said Zhanna Manukyan, according to NEWS.am.

She noted that she acted based on the Minister of Health's order: “I had already informed the parents of those children that they could attend and gather their documents. They are arguing that I have called in children who are far down the waiting list; actually, there are not 12 children, but 11.”

Regarding the selection of children, the kindergarten director said, “I didn't pick randomly; I called on parents who have been complaining for a year due to the quarantine that keeping their child is an issue.”

Earlier, it was reported that the head of the Shengavit community, Razmik Mkrtchyan, wrote on his Facebook page that investigations revealed that the kindergarten director, either by choice or lack of knowledge, selected and admitted 12 children who had no out-of-turn status, having registration numbers 50th, 47th, 16th, and others, violating the established order and sequence for admissions.

Razmik Mkrtchyan stated that the issue has been resolved; the director's fixed-term employment contract was terminated prematurely.
