Canada Decides to Halt AstraZeneca Vaccine Use for Individuals Under 55
Canada is halting the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine against COVID-19 for individuals under the age of 55. As reported by Al Jazeera, this decision follows an advisory committee's expression of "significant concerns" regarding the vaccine's association with the development of blood clots.
“We are united in our position to suspend the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine for those under 55 years of age in Canada,” said Howard Njoo, Deputy Chief Public Health Officer, to reporters, adding that the decision is based on new data.
