Before the Campaign Has Even Started, Pashinian Already Abuses His Official Position: 'Zhoghout'
Despite the campaign for the early parliamentary elections not having started yet, the government has begun in full force. On Sunday, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian was in the Armavir region with his team. However, it is noteworthy that during the visit, both Pashinian and his team not only used administrative resources but also contributed to the increase in coronavirus cases.
It is ironic that after greeting and hugging people in seven villages of the Armavir region, Pashinian conducted a meeting of the committee coordinating work to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the Republic. The committee has instructed to intensify inspections, especially in closed spaces and public transport, continue extensive public awareness campaigns about the culture of wearing masks, and focus on acquiring new batches of vaccines.
Another noteworthy point is that even before the start of the electoral campaign, the Prime Minister has already violated it. Specifically, informing citizens together with Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Suren Papikyan that a decision has been made to repair the asphalt at the state's expense is an example of using administrative resources. In this case, the official position was used to be above opponents, and it is clear that the opposition could not propose such a thing because they lack governing leverage.
