Azerbaijani Provocative Actions Must Be Prevented Decisively, Says Artsakh Foreign Ministry

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh has issued a statement regarding attacks on civilian vehicles. The Ministry specifically states:

“In the past week, the Azerbaijani side has twice resorted to provocations aimed at disrupting the normal life of the population of the Republic of Artsakh. On March 25 and 29, 2021, the Azerbaijani side attacked civilian vehicles traveling along the roads of the Red Market - Stepanakert and Stepanakert - Goris. Notably, in the second incident, a vehicle transporting the remains of those who fell victim to Azerbaijan's military aggression against Artsakh, supported by Turkey and international terrorists, was attacked.

Such provocative actions against the civilian population of Artsakh demonstrate that Baku does not control the Azerbaijani forces stationed in the occupied territories of Artsakh, or that the authorities in Azerbaijan deliberately and purposefully hinder the stability of the region and the peacekeeping mission carried out by the Russian Federation.

In this regard, we find it necessary to emphasize that these incidents are also a consequence of the illegal presence of Azerbaijani military units and international terrorist groups operating under the patronage of Azerbaijan and Turkey in the occupied territories of Artsakh.

Such provocative actions must be prevented decisively, and the organizers and participants must face appropriate punishment. Impunity and inaction carry unpredictable consequences for peace and stability in the region.”
