Man Arrested for Sexual Assault in Abovyan Elevator Incident

According to SHAMSHYAN.com, materials are being prepared in the investigative department of the Kotayk police regarding an incident that occurred a few days ago in the city of Abovyan. As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, on March 21, operational information was received at the Abovyan police that an attempt was made to rape a young girl in one of the buildings in the 3rd microdistrict of Abovyan.

According to G. Shamshyan, Abovyan police determined that on the same day, around 23:20, an unknown individual attacked a young girl living in the building at the moment she exited the elevator on the 6th floor, forcefully grabbing her and committing sexual violence against her.

The photojournalist's information reveals that the police have apprehended the suspect in this act, who was taken to the police station in his vehicle. He has been identified as 29-year-old T.M., a resident of Abovyan, who works as a manager at one of the well-known companies in Armenia. A forensic examination has been ordered by the investigator.
