Interim Measure Adopted for 188 Individuals by ECHR

Armenia expects that the issue of Armenian prisoners of war and civilians held in Azerbaijan will be discussed at one of the upcoming meetings of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. This was reported by 1lurer.am.

The head of the Armenian representative office to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) stated that there is currently an interim measure regarding 188 individuals as per the Court's decision. Azerbaijan has confirmed the captivity of 71 individuals.

Liparit Drmeyan (head of the Armenian representation at the ECHR) noted that they hold weekly meetings, but the sessions specifically overseeing ECHR decisions are held four times a year. The next meeting is in June, but considering the urgency of the situation, an extraordinary session may be convened.
