General-Major Awarded the Combat Cross During the War Sues the President of Armenia
The former commander of the rifle division, Karen Arstamyan, has filed a lawsuit against the President of Armenia. According to Factinfo, this information comes from the court information system "Datalex".
The lawsuit pertains to a decree issued on November 8, 2020, regarding his dismissal from the position of commander of the 18th rifle division. The lawsuit was submitted to the court on March 24, 2021, and was assigned to the judge of the Administrative Court of Armenia, Artzrun Mirzoyan, on the same day. Currently, there is no information regarding whether the court has accepted the lawsuit for review.
It is noteworthy that Arstamyan was dismissed from his position during the final days of the 44-day Artsakh war, just two days before the capitulation. However, this news did not cause significant uproar at the time. During the war, he was nominated by the Artsakh Defense Army for the 1st class of the Combat Cross for his "skilled and uninterrupted command of the troops during combat operations, leading to the defeat of numerous enemy forces."
