Dispute Over Personal Matter Ends in Stabbing
The investigation into a criminal case concerning a 34-year-old man from Voskahat village, who intentionally caused serious harm to a resident of Ararat province, has concluded at the Regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
Through investigative actions conducted during the pre-trial proceedings, several circumstances of the incident have been clarified.
Specifically, the investigation established that on July 18, 2020, around 17:00, the resident of Voskahat village argued with a man from Vanashen village over a previously existing personal matter in one of the cafes in Ejmiatsin city. During the argument, using a knife with a one-sided blade and a double-sided sharp edge that he had with him, he deliberately struck the latter in the left flank area, causing a penetrating cut wound to the left flank, damage to the spleen, and severe internal bleeding, threatening the victim’s life.
Based on a sufficient combination of evidence, the resident of Voskahat village has been charged under the first part of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, and a non-leaving signature was chosen as a preventive measure.
The pre-trial investigation has concluded, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion.
