23-Year-Old Driver Hits Pedestrian with VAZ 21104 in Gyumri; Pedestrian Found Intoxicated
The Traffic Police's 1st platoon of the 2nd police battalion is preparing materials regarding a hit-and-run case that occurred on March 26 in the Shirak region. On that day, around 14:00, Tigran Varosyan, a 23-year-old resident of Gyumri, hit a pedestrian, 45-year-old Hamlet Tifilyan, with his VAZ 21104 car in front of 70 Gorky Street.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver did not flee the scene. The pedestrian was diagnosed with "facial abrasions" and was transported to the Gyumri Medical Center. After this, T. Varosyan voluntarily reported to the Kumayri district police department of Gyumri.
Both the driver and the pedestrian underwent sobriety tests. The driver was sober, while the pedestrian was found to be severely intoxicated.
