Traffic Gradually Restored for All Vehicles Through the 'Verin Lars' Checkpoint: SRC
The State Revenue Committee (SRC) reports that currently, the Russian 'Verin Lars' and the Georgian 'Dariali' ('Kazbeki') checkpoints are open for the movement of passenger vehicles in both directions. Due to favorable weather conditions, and after road clearing operations, the remaining trucks in the Khach drainage area are being diverted to the 'Dariali' ('Kazbeki') checkpoint to gradually organize the flow towards 'Verin Lars'.
The Georgian side has already begun allowing the movement of medium trucks (5-7 tons) towards 'Verin Lars', which is usually followed by the movement of large trucks (20 tons). This will simultaneously take place from the Russian side towards the Georgian 'Dariali' ('Kazbeki') checkpoint.
It is noteworthy that the work currently being carried out at the Russia-Georgia border corresponds to the logic of restoring vehicle flow after the road has opened. The State Revenue Committee maintains constant communication with its partners in Russia and Georgia, and will provide additional information about the situation as necessary.
