Azerbaijani Soldiers Torture and Degrade Peaceful Residents of Artsakh Simply Because They Are Armenian: Ombudsman

A video shows Azerbaijani soldiers torturing and degrading a peaceful resident of Artsakh, an ordinary villager, simply because he is Armenian. This was reported by the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, on his Facebook page, where he also published the video.

He specifically noted: “Azerbaijani soldiers are inspired by hatred and use the same rhetoric promoted by Azerbaijani and Turkish authorities and public figures. This video is one of many pieces of evidence of the entrenched ethnic and religious hatred that underlies war crimes and atrocities driven by animosity.”

The Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia had previously investigated this video, which dates back to the September-November 2020 war, and had sent it to international bodies for further consideration.
