Major and Tragic Car Accident in Shirak Province: 1 Dead, 1 Injured

Today, on March 27, a major and tragic car accident occurred in Shirak Province. Around 3:00 PM, on the Yerevan-Gyumri-Bavra roadway at the 140 km mark, within the administrative territory of the Tsoghamarg village in the Ashotsk region, a head-on collision took place between a VAZ 2107 car and a Volvo truck.

According to Shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, one person has died on the spot, and another was provided first aid by doctors from the Ashotsk hospital who arrived promptly, before being transferred to the Gyumri medical center.

The police and the investigative department are working to determine the identities of the drivers, the deceased, and the injured. According to a photojournalist's information, snow had fallen on the road and visibility was poor; however, the road service had been conducting maintenance work. Nevertheless, the VAZ 2107 veered into oncoming traffic and collided with the truck. The deceased is a 59-year-old woman who was a passenger in the VAZ 2107.
