The Destruction of St. Astvatsatsin Church in Mekhakavan and Shushi's Green Hour Will Be Subject to Investigation: Gor Abrahamyan

The St. Astvatsatsin Church in Mekhakavan has been completely destroyed, and the instance of the destruction of Shushi's "Green Hour" or St. John the Baptist Church will also be subject to investigation. This information was shared by Gor Abrahamyan, an advisor to the Attorney General.

"In connection with the gross violations of norms of customary humanitarian law, crimes committed against humanity and peace during the aggressive war unleashed and carried out by Azerbaijan against the Republic of Artsakh, extensive criminal proceedings are currently under the supervision and procedural management of the Armenian military prosecutor's office. One of the main directions of this investigation is to assess the cases of destruction, damage or desecration of Armenian historical monuments, objects of particular historical or cultural value, and graves of people of Armenian origin in areas that have come under the control of the Azerbaijani armed forces. This is aimed at providing legal assessments of these actions and holding accountable those who have committed crimes," he noted.
