Istanbul-Armenian Doctor Joins Erdoğan's Party Executive Committee
On March 24, the 7th grand congress of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took place, as reported by Ermenihaber.am. During the congress, an updated list of members of the party's central executive committee was presented, expanding from 50 to 75 members.
Among the newly appointed members of the party's leadership is Istanbul-Armenian figure and medical professional, Sevan Sıvacıoğlu. Originally from Arabkir in Malatya province, Sıvacıoğlu was born in Istanbul and studied at Istanbul University’s Faculty of Medicine, specializing in orthopedic surgery. He has worked in the orthopedics and traumatology departments of the “Holy Savior” Armenian Hospital and the “Acıbadem” hospital in Istanbul.
