Former MPs of 'My Step' Express Discontent with Government's Attitude

The former members of the National Assembly from the 'My Step' faction expressed their dissatisfaction with the government's attitude during the Q&A session with the government at the previous parliamentary meeting. The executive offered to frame the questions raised by the MPs in writing and send them via mail.

According to Armenpress, during the National Assembly session on March 25, Taguhi Tovmasyan addressed the Assembly president from the podium and stated, “As the president of the parliament, you should have intervened yesterday, so that the government did not respond to the questions of our three independent MPs in a whimsical manner. I believe we raised questions to which the government certainly had responses. This is considered a deliberate discriminatory attitude directed at the MPs who left 'My Step'.”

She urged the Assembly president to be more attentive to all MPs, emphasizing that the president represents all lawmakers, and the law requires conducting the session from a position of justice. The MP expressed her desire for a public disclosure regarding her question about the Hrant Matevosyan Museum. “For about two years and even longer, correspondence has been ongoing between state agencies and the director of the museum, Hrant Matevosyan's son,” she said, adding that the government benefits nothing by not responding. Tovmasyan reminded that the government is obliged to answer the questions posed by the MPs.

NA President Ararat Mirzoyan clarified, “There are no independent MPs; there are those who are not included in any faction. This is as much a formal definition as it is a profound one.” Discontent was also expressed by Gor Gevorgyan, who also left 'My Step'. During the Q&A session with government members on March 24, the government representatives did not provide verbal responses to the questions of the three MPs—Taguhi Tovmasyan, Gor Gevorgyan, and Sofia Hovsepyan—asking them to frame their questions in writing.
