Families Hosting Artsakh Residents Who Lost Their Homes Will Receive State Support for 3 More Months
During today’s cabinet meeting, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mesrop Arakelyan presented a project that proposes changes to a program designed to reimburse temporary accommodation expenses for adults who lost their homes due to the devastation caused by military actions initiated by Azerbaijan against Artsakh starting September 27, 2020. This program, originally set for three months, will be extended to six months.
He stated that families who host Artsakh residents receive 30,000 AMD (Armenian Dram) per adult hosted within Armenia, while the amount is 45,000 AMD in Artsakh.
According to the minister, financial assistance is being provided to 3,000 host families, who accommodate over 7,000 adult citizens.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that the government is providing financial assistance to those citizens who are able to host residents from Artsakh to ensure the process is conducted properly.
Minister Arakelyan also noted that yesterday, approximately 80,000 citizens of Artsakh received 68,000 AMD in assistance.
