Armen Grigoryan Claims Onik Gasparyan Did Not Propose to Halt the War on the Fourth Day
The Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, refuted Onik Gasparyan's statement that the latter proposed to halt the war during a Security Council meeting on the fourth day of the conflict in an interview with CivilNet.
“During that session, no one proposed to stop the war,” Grigoryan stated. According to Aysor.am, in a conversation with journalists today, Grigoryan emphasized that his statement is based on documents and minutes from that meeting.
“The Security Council session is fully documented, and what I said is factually recorded. From a historical perspective, if there is an opportunity to publish it, all the thoughts I expressed in that interview will definitely be confirmed,” the Security Council Secretary highlighted.
When asked whether there was an intention to direct blame towards the Armed Forces, Armen Grigoryan responded, “We have no intention to point fingers at the Armed Forces. The Armed Forces were supposed to prepare a report on the war under the leadership of Onik Gasparyan. If we intended to blame the Armed Forces, we would have prepared that report and directed the blame accordingly. We have no such intention, have never had, and will not have.”
He added that there is no need to search for culprits and that the Armed Forces must prepare a report on the war.
It should be noted that Onik Gasparyan had sent a message on November 17, in which he stated, “On the fourth day of the war, during the Security Council meeting, I presented our losses and the assessment of the situation by the Armed Forces, stating that measures should be taken within two to three days to halt the war; otherwise, under the current intensity of hostilities, our resources would be depleted in a short time, and we will have increasingly unfavorable conditions for negotiating in the following days.”
