Attention: New Scam Spreading Online
The Personal Data Protection Agency announces that a new scam is spreading online, whereby fraudsters target users' email addresses and subsequently publish their online photos on social networks.
"The scammers offer online jobs and, under the pretext of needing to make some adjustments, they obtain the 'victim's' email address and password. With access to these details, they gain access to the victim's photos. They may attempt to extort money in exchange for not publishing personal photos.
Under no circumstances should you share your password with others. Use a complex password. Do not use the same password on multiple platforms. Enable two-factor authentication, which protects your account even if your password is compromised. Be suspicious of any proposals that suggest making money easily," the statement reads.
