Vagharshak Harutyunyan and Sergei Shoigu have held a phone conversation

On March 23, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Vagharshak Harutyunyan, had a phone conversation with the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergei Shoigu.

The heads of the defense departments of the allied countries discussed the main directions of the large-scale reforms launched within the Armenian armed forces, issues related to Armenian-Russian military cooperation, particularly regarding the joint operations of collective forces, as well as the progress of the mission carried out by the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh.

During the phone conversation, special attention was paid to security measures being implemented in Syunik.

Vagharshak Harutyunyan and Sergei Shoigu also discussed the regional military-political situation.
