Urgent: The Homeland Salvation Movement Reopens Baghramyan Avenue
The Homeland Salvation Movement has issued a statement.
“For a considerable time now, the Homeland Salvation Movement has been fighting against the authorities that have brought our country to disaster through various protests, civil disobedience actions, rallies, and other legal and political means. During this period, we have managed to form a broad public coalition around the demand for the removal of the individual clinging to the prime minister's chair. Although the government is slow to act, it is being influenced by considerable public pressure.
It is already clear to all social and political forces that without resolving the current crisis, the development of Armenia is impossible, and moreover, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country are at risk. At the same time, it is evident that the ongoing mode of struggle creates certain inconveniences for citizens, which is by no means the aim of the Movement.
In light of the above, the Homeland Salvation Movement's council has decided to take the following actions in the current phase of struggle:
- To initiate a new wave of political actions, expanding the geography of activities and involving the population of the regions.
- To maintain public pressure and coordinate further actions of the Movement, we declare the tent camp located on Demirchyan Street as the Movement's headquarters.
- To restore free movement along Baghramyan Avenue, eliminating the inconvenience created for citizens.
To present the further plans of the Movement, a nationwide rally is called on March 28 at 15:00 at the intersection of Baghramyan and Demirchyan streets. Our goals and agenda remain unchanged. We will fight and we shall win,” the statement said.
