The Prosecutor's Office Has Taken No Action on Issuing International Arrest Warrants for Azerbaijan's Military-Political Leadership, Says Tovmasyan

A member of the National Assembly, Taguhi Tovmasyan, stated in parliament that Azerbaijan had announced the international wanted status for around 300 Armenians, and she expected the Prosecutor's Office to take steps regarding the international search for Azerbaijan's military-political leadership within a few months. However, according to the MP, nothing has been done in this direction.

“I thought that at least an international arrest warrant should have already been issued against the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, but instead, from the press releases of the Prosecutor's Office, we learn that there are violations in the fish farming sector of the Ararat region, and there are deforestation issues in the Lori and Tavush regions. The Prosecutor's Office opens a criminal case and states in its decision that the case is initiated for violations of international conventions by the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan, in connection with facts of crimes against humanity, but instead issues charges and opens a criminal case against a commentator of an Azerbaijani football club,” Tovmasyan noted.

She characterized all this as mockery, emphasizing that it is time for the Prosecutor’s Office to take action.
